Yes. Most temples expect modest traditional dress (dhoti or trousers for men, saree, salwar or long skirts for women), and some, especially in Kerala, admit only Hindus to the inner sanctum. Shoes are left outside, and photography is not allowed inside many shrines. Your coordinator will brief you before each visit.
