The cave features a well-lit walkway through natural limestone passages. Some sections are narrow enough to require ducking or turning sideways, which adds to the adventure. Geology of Mawsmai Cave

The cave is formed in limestone deposited approximately 100-200 million years ago when this region was under a shallow sea. Water seeping through cracks over millions of years dissolved the rock, creating the passages. The stalactites (hanging formations) and stalagmites (floor formations) continue to grow at approximately 1mm per century. Fossil imprints of ancient marine life can be spotted in the cave walls by observant visitors.
